Crock Pot Elk Recipes

One of the best ways to put an awesome dinner on the table for your family is with the crock pot.  Just a little time prepping the meat and chopping the veggies, and a little time you’ve got a great home cooked meal.  Much different than all the trouble of marinading elk meat or cooking with ground elk meat.  A crock pot is a classic favorite, so we decided to share some of our best recipes with you.

Crock Pot Elk Stew

Elk meat – rolled roast (1/2) the back leg portions of the animal work well for this
3 Red Potatoes
2 cups carrots
1/2 cup onion
1/2 clove garlic
1 stick of celery
1 package dry onion soup mix (we prefer to make our own, it’s quick and easy)
2 Cans cream of mushroom soup (again, we make our own – much healthier)
2-3 cans of water

Place elk roast in crock pot. Add cut onions, celery, and garlic. Sprinkle one package of dry onion soup mix over roast. Add cut carrots and potatoes. Open and our over mixture two cans of cream of mushroom soup. Add 2-3 cans of water. Cook on low in crock pot for 8-10 hours.
